Travel Tips: What You Can Bring on An Airplane and How to Pack them?

People who are going to travel from flights have many questions buzzing around their mind. After booking a flight you need to know about the packing information. The main doubt that comes in mind is based on the stuff they should pack and what they shouldn’t. So, here we are going to cover some basic items that many people have doubt about.

Food Stuff

The solid foodstuff can be taken as carry-on baggage. Solid stuff means bread, sandwich, and fruits etc.

But, if you have liquid or gel type food items such as yoghurt, juice, jam, and butter then it must be less than 3.4 oz.

Alcohol

For taking alcohol on the flight there is a rule for it. Alcohol must be under 70% proof to bring it on the flight.

Cigarettes:

Smoking in the flight is not allowed at all but you can bring it with yourself. Cigarettes can be packed as a carry baggage. Even the vapes and e-cigarettes can be carried with yourself but as a carry baggage. These are battery enabled devices so cannot be taken as checked baggage.

Makeup Items:

Some of the makeup items come under 3.4oz rulei.emascara, eyeliner, nail paint, perfume, hairspray, foundation cream and lotion. While solid items have not such restrictions to follow which includes lipstick, powder etc.

Now, the Question Arises How to Pack the Stuff?

Being organized is not everyone’s cup of tea but,we can manage to be like that. You only have to follow some steps to be a smart backpacker:

  • Apply for TSA pre-check in which can make your screening process faster than others. There can be crowd of people for their screening process who wanna rush for the flight. So, it’s better to apply for pre-check process.
  • If you are qualified for pre-check then you will be provided with KTN (Known Traveler Number) that is valid for five years. Qualifying for the pre-check process means no need tobe lined in a long queue. You are allowed for a quicker screening process by standing in a dedicated separate security line.
  • If you have not qualified for TSA pre-check then you need to go through a long screening process. You need to remove belt and shoes. Also, you have to leave a laptop in its case and a 3-1-1 compliant bag containing items with small quantities of liquids, gels, and other necessary items in the carry-on luggage.
  • Some people who are frequent flyers don’t know 3-1-1 compliant bag. So let me explain you that it is a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes which you are allowed to take through the checkpoint. These liquids are limited to 4 ounces i.e 100 milliliters or less per item and called 3-1-1 liquid rule.
  • The bag must be packed in a right format so that it can be easily screened at the airport. Otherwise you have to open your bag at airport to whip out the items inside it.
  • If you have liquids then keep them all together so that you can easily show them for checking process.
  • Keep the electronic items in an easy to access pocket so that they can be easily opened while going through security. It not only saves your time but also from hassle.

Here are some of the cards which allow global entry fee for TSA check-in. So, if you have one of them, then make benefits of pre-check in from your card.

  • Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
  • United Explorer Card
  • Bank of America Premium Rewards credit card
  • Starwood Preferred Guest American Express Luxury Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • The Platinum Card from American Express
  • Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard

A smart traveler is the one who not only looks for the cheap flight tickets but also knows how to avail the benefits provided by the airlines. Next time you book a flight then make sure you travel after packing your bag nicely and apply for TSA pre-check.
